To respond to the growing interest by Outside Industry Contractors, Vendors and Industry Stakeholders, NECA has created a special Outside Industry Two-Day NECA Show Registration Package during the NECA Convention at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) this fall. Register Now

The package includes participation in the special Outside Industry preconvention workshop on Friday, October 7th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm, “Fundamentals of Live Work: Minimum Approach Distances and Employer Requirements.” Sponsored by Northeast Live-line, this workshop will be conducted by two industry experts, David Wallis and George Gela. The presentation will focus in the application and the new OSHA values for minimum approach distances.

The Convention Education Program and Technical Workshops include a number of specialty courses that are well suited to Outside Industry Stakeholders. From Saturday’s Safety Roundtable and Leadership Development Sessions to Technical Workshops on emerging technologies, the Outside Industry Two-Day Package is sure to have something for everybody.

The Outside Industry Two-Day Package includes full-access to the Saturday NECA Show from the opening at 11:30am to the 5:00pm closing. There are a number of NECA Show Exhibitors who will be featuring their products and services that are specifically designed for the Outside Industry. 

Last, the Outside Industry Two-Day Package will include a first look at the Line Construction Advancement Fund’s (LCAF) Mobile Transformer Training Trailer- Powered by Northeast Line Constructors Chapter of NECA. This custom built trailer is outfitted with a custom-designed 3-phase transformer-training unit that was specially designed and built for LCAF.

Instructors from Northeastern Apprenticeship and Training (NEAT) will conduct a training session on the NECA Show floor demonstrating how this training unit can be used to deliver “just-in-time training to meet the needs of the Outside Industry.


Here is the schedule for the Just in Time Transformer Training located in the Outside Line Theater, booth 271 on the NECA Show floor:
Today, more than ever before, outside industry line and utility workers need a fundamental understanding of transformers and transformation principals to accommodate the vast number of complex transformer configurations they may encounter in the field. This presentation will feature a state-of-the-art mobile solution to provide “just in time” training, when and where it is need in the outside and utility sectors. The presentation will discuss the numerous options and flexibility of the training unit and how it can be used to replicate three phase Wye and Delta configurations. Participants will learn how to use the trainer to network and parallel transformer banks in a real-world electrical grid system.

If you are exhibiting in Boston, you MUST complete this form and bring it with a 30% deposit onsite during sign-up Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 7:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. or Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:00a.m. - 1:00p.m.  

2017 booth requests will not be accepted in advance of onsite sign-up in Boston.

If you are not exhibiting in the 2016 NECA Show, your 2017 booth request will be processed after October 12, 2016.
