  • Legrand Outdoor Ground Box
UL-listed while in use in-ground box provides permanent outdoor power. NEMA 6P& IP68 Rated....

  • Facility and event managers are often forced to set up a generator or run an extension cord to provide power for outdoor activities, such as collegiate, corporate and sporting events, food vendors and retail kiosks. These types of temporary power solutions are unsafe and create tripping, fire and electrocution hazards. Legrand’s new Outdoor Ground Box provides a safe. permanent outdoor power solution.

The Ground Box uses a “diving bell” design to create and maintain an air pocket that protects the electrical connections from getting wet in adverse weather conditions. To sustain a safe working product, there are holes on the bottom of the box which allows the water to drain into the ground. The Ground Box also has anti-float clips which prevent the cover from lifting up and keeps the protective air pocket intact. For added safety, it has a locking cover to prevent unauthorized use.

It’s the first UL listed while in use outdoor in-ground box. It earned a National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 6P rating — meaning it can withstand “occasional, prolonged submersion in water” — and an International Protection (IP) 68 rating stating that it is “protected from total dust ingress and long term immersion up to a specified pressure.”

Designed for use in any climate, the Ground Box has gone through rigorous testing to prove it has the durability to withstand exposure to water and ice. It has a Tier 5 load rating — meaning it can handle an occasional 5,000-pound load — without cracking or breaking.

The Ground Box features a modular design that allows the box units to be ganged together based on electrical needs and available space. There are three weather-resistant receptacle options available: a 20-amp duplex, a single 30-amp Turnlok® locking receptacle L5-30R (125V), a single 30 amp Turnlok® locking receptacle L6-30R (250V), and a low voltage version that can accommodate communications and A/V services.

The box sits flush with the ground to seamlessly blend into the existing landscaping. It is made of UV-resistant material and can be installed in a variety of surfaces. The Ground Box is offered in black, brown and gray finishes to match its environment.

  • PlugTail Commercial Grade USB Charging Receptacles
Dual USB Type-A and Type-C charging without an AC adapter, and installs three times faster....

  • In an era when people are always on the go, mobile charging devices are in high demand. The new PlugTail Commercial Specification Grade USB Charging Receptacles from Legrand feature dual USB Type-A and Type-C ports to provide the convenience of mobile charging without the need for a bulky AC adapter. They are equipped with two UL Fed Spec AC receptacles and available in 15 and 20A configurations to meet the power requirements of any commercial application.

    Supporting new technology

As mobile technology advances to deliver faster charging and data processing, the transition from USB Type-A to USB Type-C ports marks the next phase in the evolution.

“We’ve already seen some major technology manufacturers begin the transition to USB Type-C ports. Like the shift from VGA to HDMI, the conversion will not happen overnight,” said Kevin Kohl, product manager – Pass & Seymour®, at Legrand North America. “Legrand predicts the changeover will take several years, and USB Type-A and Type-C technologies will coexist in the market in the meantime. That’s why the new PlugTail USB Charging Receptacles feature both USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports, which enables electrical contractors the unique ability to provide their customers with quick installation, convenient charging solutions throughout the transition period.”

The PlugTail USB Charging Receptacles have a 15.5W power supply to efficiently charge mobile phones, tablets and other peripherals. They can be used anywhere people gather, including airports, hotel lobbies, office spaces, restaurants, schools and universities, and waiting rooms.

    Lower installation costs

As the latest additions to the  PlugTail product line, the USB Charging Receptacles are quick and easy to install. Like other PlugTail solutions, the receptacles simply snap into the universal prewired pigtail connector. Since they install three times faster than traditional wiring devices, PlugTail wiring devices provide the electrical contractor with more efficient operation on the jobsite. PlugTail products also allow contractors to swap out receptacles in minutes — which is important as technology evolves, upgrades become available, spaces are reconfigured or codes change. Because contractors can complete changeouts without rewiring a space, they can complete more jobs per week and add money to the bottom line.

The PlugTail USB Charging Receptacles will also soon be available in hospital-grade configurations to help serve a large, established vertical market for future-wired devices.

  • P&S Sloped-Roof Stainless Steel Safety Switches
Type 316 stainless steel and 15° sloped roof for corrosion resistance and easy clean-up....

  • Harsh, wet industrial environments demand heavy-duty, long-lasting electrical safety equipment. Equipment that not only withstands the elements, but meets strict new requirements like the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Our new Pass & Seymour® Stainless Steel Safety Switches more than meet these demands. Constructed with high-quality Type 316 stainless steel, the IP69K-certified devices are designed to resist corrosion and can be easily cleaned to eliminate contaminant buildup, which can lead to costly product recalls. The 15˚ sloped-roof models are particularly well-suited for environments where the spread of food-borne illnesses is a concern, because they naturally facilitate runoff during washdowns.

  • Legrand Snap-On J-Hook
Easily snaps-on to existing management systems, allowing changes to be made quickly and cost effectively....

  • Legrand introduced the new easy-to-install Cablofil Snap-On CJxxCat40 series of J-hooks that are ideal for electrical contractors searching for a non-permanent cabling solution. Contractors looking to add an existing tray or create a temporary cabling system can simply hang the J-hook on the lowest side wire, rotate downward, and “snap” it on the tray. Because the J-hook snaps on to an existing cable management system, it significantly reduces installation time and overall project costs.

The Snap-On J-hook is designed for non-center-hung cable management systems in commercial spaces where changes need to be made quickly and at a low cost. Hospitals, sports venues, retail and office spaces often require substantial modifications on a frequent basis; the Snap-On J-hook allows contractors to make those cabling adjustments in an efficient way. It’s also ideal for special events where supplemental cabling must be temporarily installed and kept out of the way of event attendees.

“The Snap-On J-hooks are incredibly fast to install,” said Bob Crain, director of marketing and product development for the Cablofil product line at Legrand. “Well over 60 percent of cable management system installation costs come from the supports to put it up, so the fact that you’re just snapping it together significantly reduces installation overhead.”

    Reliable reinforcement

Many cabling solutions require additional supports like ceiling drop wire or support beams when creating a pathway. The Snap-On J-hook is designed to fit any 2-inch by 4-inch grid, which enables contractors to utilize the mechanical support from an existing cabling path without special attachments or additional hardware.

Most commercial building codes require cabling systems to be reinforced approximately every 5 feet. The Snap-On design from Legrand is simpler to install than other support solutions, allowing contractors to meet code requirements more efficiently. Because the Snap-On J-hook can easily be installed by one person, it offers labor savings in commercial projects with tight margins and deadlines.

Available in black, blue, green, orange, red, white and yellow with additional custom color options, the Snap-On J-hook can be customized to fit any commercial space. Legrand offers a full line of Cablofil cable tray solutions, including center-hung systems to support the needs of all contractors and project applications.
