  • Werner Releases Breakthrough Technology to Reduce Fall-Related Injuries on the Jobsite

New ProFormTM F3 high performance harnesses protect against harness-related injuries before rescue workers arrive

Greenville, PA, May 11, 2017 –Werner, the trusted leader in climbing products and fall protection equipment, has developed breakthrough fall protection products to protect workers in high-risk environments from falls and fall-related injuries. The new industry-changing ProFormTM F3 Harnesses feature a patented relief cord system, which allows the user to relieve possible deadly pressure on femoral arteries and pressure on the clavicle, typically caused by harness straps in a post-fall condition.

No other harness on the market provides immediate post-fall relief in case of an accident. In the event of a fall, workers wearing a Werner ProFormTM F3 Harness can simply pull the patented relief cords to adjust the built-in seat and achieve the ‘Gravity Override’ position, reducing the potential hazards of suspension trauma.

"As a company that designs equipment for professionals on high-risk jobsites, safety is our number one priority," said Eric Miller, Group Product Manager at Werner. "The most demanding jobsites often require professional workers to put themselves in dangerous situations and we know there’s even more at stake than the fall itself. This is why we are especially proud to unveil the Werner ProFormTM F3 Harnesses designed to protect workers from falls and allow them to make adjustments after a traumatic incident so that they can be rescued safely."

Function, Fit and Freedom with the Werner ProFormTM F3 Harnesses

The ProFormTM Harnesses are not only designed for post-fall functionality, but also deliver greater comfort and performance for strenuous work environments. Built-in features like the dual back pad, self-retracting-lanyard bumper and gear loops keep professionals functioning with maximum comfort and productivity on the jobsite.

The ProFormTM F3 harnesses are athletically styled, constructed with lightweight materials and breathable padding where the users need it most while delivering maximum freedom.

The ProFormTM F3 Harnesses are available in four styles: Standard Harness Tongue Buckle Legs; Standard Harness Quick Connect Legs; Construction Harness Tongue Buckle Legs; and Construction Harness Quick Connect Legs. Features include:

Built in Relief Cords to provide immediate relief after a fall, allowing the user to reach a gravity override seated position.

Dual-Back Pad System provides cooling airflow, breathability and can be repositioned after a fall to reduce pressure on the clavicle.

New WebAlert™2 inspectable webbing makes wear or damage clearly visible and contains a weather-resistant coating.

Durable and convenient label pack keeps product labels protected from the elements and allows for personalization.

The SRL bumper protects the lower back from frequent and nuisance contact when wearing personal SRL's.

The Aluminum Cam Torso provides easy adjustment for the ultimate fit.

The Aluminum Quick Connect buckles include a green indicator for visual sign of proper engagement.

The innovative roll down torso web keepers allow convenient excess web storage.

Focused padding minimizes weight and bulk, while inner compression layer reduces contact points and promotes airflow.

  • Werner Introduces Innovative 2-in-1 Dual Purpose Ladder

New Models of the Two-in-One Ladder Design Available in Fiberglass with Contractor-Friendly Features

May 23, 2017 Greenville, PA – Werner, the global leader in the manufacturing of professional and consumer ladders, announced today several new models of the ground-breaking 2-in-1 Dual Purpose Ladder. Designed for service crews, electricians and general contractors, the new fiberglass ladders feature enhanced ergonomics that offer the ultimate in safety and efficiency. The new ladders are built from lightweight fiberglass and use a simple flip and click mechanism to convert from a stepladder to an extension ladder; they are available in 6-, 7- and 8-foot models that convert to the equivalent of 14-, 16- and 18-foot extension ladders, respectively.

"Our longevity and depth of experience in the ladder industry has given us insights into the features and benefits that truly make a difference to our hardworking customers," said Chris Filardi, Vice President of Marketing. "We designed the 2-in-1 Dual Purpose Ladder to ensure that our customers have the best, and most efficient climbing products available."

The game changing 2-in-1 Dual Purpose Ladder replaces the need for two separate ladders at the jobsite. In addition, with the new Dual Purpose Ladder, only one ladder is needed to fit onto the contractor’s work van or truck, to minimize storage requirements. The new Type 1A fiberglass professional-grade models include new contractor friendly features:

Integrated V-Rung: When flipped to extension-ladder mode, the top rung on each new dual purpose ladder features an integrated V-Rung allowing the ladder to be used safely on trees, poles and corners.

Oversized, molded ProGuard Boots™: Each ladder features oversized, non-marking footpads unique to Werner.

Full-Sized Steps: Bottom to top, even when fully extended, the new 2-in-1 ladders feature full-sized 3-inch boot-friendly steps.

Cost Effective: The two-in-one design costs less than a stepladder and extension ladder combined.

Transport and Storage Efficiencies: That same 2-in-1 design saves space on trucks and at worksites. The new ladder design is also easy to transport, even on compact vehicles and is convenient to maneuver and store.

Non-Conductive: The 2-in-1 Ladder is non-conductive, an important feature for electricians or anyone working near electricity.

The new Werner 2-in1 Dual-Purpose Ladders are available for purchase online. For more information, visit http://www.wernerco.com/us/en/products/climbing-equipment/multi-purpose-ladders?ipp=24&cp=1&sort=default&tts=1493328281962.

  • Leaning Allowed: Werner Introduces New LEANSAFE™ Step Ladder

Werner’s newest step ladder remains OSHA-compliant while in use leaning against walls, poles, bare studs or corners.

August 10, 2017 – Greenville, PA – Werner, the global leader in the manufacturing of ladders with a full portfolio of climbing equipment, introduces the LEANSAFE™ Ladder, a step ladder that can safely be leaned against walls, corners, studs or a pole. Per OSHA regulations, traditional step ladders should never be leaned directly against a vertical surface because they are designed to be exclusively self-supporting. However, Werner’s new LEANSAFE™ Ladder introduces new innovative features allowing it to be leaned against a variety of surfaces while retaining its functionality as a traditional step ladder.

"Werner is incredibly committed to safety, and that means we are willing to find solutions through product design to ensure users are protected," said Chris Filardi, Vice President of Marketing for WernerCo. "We’ve seen too many times that a user will over-reach and put themselves in dangerous situations to get the job done. The new LEANSAFE™ Ladder is a practical and innovative way to curb common bad behaviors like leaning traditional step ladders against walls."

Standard features on the Werner LEANSAFE™ Ladder include a Type 1A Duty Rating and a load capacity of up to 300 pounds. It is constructed of seven-layer fiberglass, making it safe to use when working around electricity. The new LEANSAFE™ Ladder is both a standard step ladder and leaning ladder all-in-one. Additonal safety features found in Werner’s new LEANSAFE™ Ladder include:

Patent-Pending LEANSAFE™Ladder Top – exclusive new design features non-marring rubber bumper pads, a magnet for holding metal tools and bits, power drill and hand-tool holes and a cut-away pattern that leans securely on corners, poles, studs and walls.

Dropped Rail Pivot Point – the support rails are attached and hinged below the ladder’s top platform, placing the user closer to their vertical work surface.

Patent-Pending Secure Rail Latch – this new feature holds the rear ladder rails locked in place, while allowing for single-hand opening from the front or side of the ladder.

Non-marring Foot Pad – ladder feet feature non-marring, curved rubber pads that maximize contact with the ground in both standard and leaning modes.

EDGE360® Bracing – helps protect the rail from damage.

The new Werner LEANSAFE™Ladder is both OSHA and ANSI compliant and is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 4 feet to 12 feet in height. These ladders are now available online and in stores. For more information, please visit www.wernerco.com/leansafe.
