As an industrial worker, versatility is in your job description. From the moment you begin your day, you could be working outside or inside, in rain or in heat, you may even be exposed to hazards like arc or flash fire in the morning and find yourself working at a desk in the afternoon. And, when the day is done, you still have your life outside of work to dress for. With days like that, you certainly won’t be bored—but will you be comfortable? Finding a garment that can keep up with the variability of your life isn’t easy, and it’s near impossible when you need to wear FR to stay safe at work. That is, until you get your hands on Tyndale’s new Versa Fleece Shirt Jacket—an item that can keep you comfortable, protected, and looking good no matter the conditions.

The Versa Fleece Shirt Jacket (T78MT) has a button-down silhouette, complete with traditional collar and cuffs, but is made with a mid-weight fleece fabric that is warm without adding bulk. Comfortable and easy to layer, especially if you need to maintain a more fitted shape that doesn’t restrict your movement, this garment also has a moisture-wicking and fast-drying finish. The practical features continue with weather-resistant, contrasting fabric on the sleeves, ensuring durability, while the same material on the zippered chest pocket keeps your valuables protected from the elements. And, although this garment is FR, and features external CAT 2 and NFPA 2112 labeling to ensure your compliance on the job, it’s also stylish and modern—meaning you don’t have to change your clothes when the work day is done.

If you’ve been searching for FR that is comfortable, protective and looks like clothing you would choose to wear on the weekends, look no further. The Versa Fleece Shirt Jacket allows you to work safely and live to the fullest when you’re off the clock—making this piece fit into your life, not the other way around.

 Press Releases

  • Pipersville, PA – Tyndale Company and National Safety Apparel® (NSA), announced an expansion of the two companies’ existing strategic alliance aimed at increasing worker access to Union Line™ 100% union-made-in-the-USA FR clothing. The new initiative was spurred by NSA’s recent acquisition of Rubin Brothers and the Union Line clothing brand to create the wholly owned subsidiary NSA-Rubin Brothers LLC.

Rubin Brothers is the clothing provider for the Electrical Training ALLIANCE – the training arm of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). ETA is also the leading publisher of education materials for the electrical industry, committed to ensuring electrical workers work smarter and safer. The Union Line brand plays an important role by providing workers access to arc rated, flame resistant (AR/FR) clothing.

Effective July 1, Tyndale will take over the management of ETA’s AR/FR clothing purchase program, previously managed by NJATC-FR.  Even before the new partnership, Tyndale provided more IBEW members with AR/FR clothing than any other supplier. This alliance allows Tyndale to offer FR clothing options that include union-made in the US and made in the US options. Tyndale looks forward to working with ETA to continue providing electrical workers with both additional education and access to the AR/FR clothing they need to stay safe on the job.

Tyndale is a leading supplier of AR/FR clothing to the utility, electrical contracting and maintenance, oil and gas, transportation and other industries. In addition the union-made apparel from Union Line, Tyndale offers both its own 100% made in the U.S. line of AR/FR clothing as well as distributed apparel from every major FR brand, including Ariat, Bulwark, Carhartt, DRIFIRE, Wrangler FR, and others. Tyndale is family owned and operated and is certified as a Women-owned Business Enterprise.

Like Tyndale, NSA is a family owned and operated business, and the two enterprises share the same commitment to preserving U.S. jobs, as well as exceptional product quality and customer service. Union Line, previously manufactured by Rubin Brothers, has served the clothing needs of working Americans for over 110 years as one of the industry’s leading suppliers of union-made apparel.

“A big part of what drove this agreement is our shared values and commitment to the safety of workers in the field,” explained Tyndale President, Robert Whittenberger. “We couldn’t be more proud and happy to distribute Union Line garments.” According to Whittenberger, Tyndale and NSA anticipate working cooperatively to expand the selection of the union-made FR garments with new Union Line products and styles.

Tyndale, based in Pipersville, PA, is a leading supplier of arc-rated, flame resistant (AR/FR) clothing to the utilities, oil and gas, 70E, transportation, and other industries. Established in 1981, Tyndale pioneered the managed purchase program business model for the FR clothing market and has worked continuously to perfect the model and provide ever-improving product quality and selection, as well as superior service. Since 2014, Tyndale has operated a second distribution center in Houston, TX offering enhanced service to the southern and western U.S., as well as planned redundancy to ensure continuous service under any circumstances.

National Safety Apparel is a market leader in the design and manufacture of high quality industrial safety apparel and military apparel. Providing industrial and safety garments for seven verticals, customers include electrical and gas utilities, steel mills and aluminum foundries, glass plants, construction, manufacturing and the armed forces. The Rubin Brothers Union Line™ brand of safety products will be marketed to National Safety Apparel’s distributor partners alongside their existing DRIFIRE® and TECGEN SELECT® performance flame resistant clothing, ArcGuard® arc flash protection, VIZABLE™ high visibility safety apparel, CARBON ARMOUR™ carbon-based high heat protection, CutGUARD™ cut protection and DRIFIRE® FR military apparel. The addition of the Rubin Brothers brand further validates NSA’s commitment to building a house of premium industrial and safety apparel brands for their customers.

  • Versa Three Button Hooded Sweatshirt
Tyndale’s Versa Three-Button FR Sweatshirt ,An innovative take on the classic hooded sweatshirt....

  • When you could be working inside, outside, or a combination of the two on any given day of the week, a hooded sweatshirt is a wardrobe staple. It’s warm, comfortable, easy to move around in, and you can easily layer a vest or jacket over it when needed. The inclination to throw on a sweatshirt when temperatures shift is no different for workers required to wear FR, except FR sweatshirts are often stiff and bulky, restricting movement and causing general discomfort. And let’s face it, linework is already enough of a balancing act—you don’t need to complicate things further trying to find the perfect combination of comfort and protection. So, what options do you have?

With the release of Tyndale’s Versa Three Button Sweatshirt (M70MT), you can have a comfortable, versatile piece of outerwear with CAT 2 protection, and as a bonus—it’s stylish enough that you can take it from work to weekend. Made with soft, inherently flame resistant FRMC® made by Frontline Fabrics, this sweatshirt is moisture wicking and fast-drying, ensuring your comfort throughout the day. While the rib knit cuffs, waistband, and hood evoke classic styling, the three-button placket on the collar is a modern touch, as well as a way to stay cool without removing your outer layer. Exterior labeling includes an American flag patch on the left sleeve, as well as NFPA 2112 and CAT labels on the front pocket and sleeves, so compliance spot-checks are easy.

Don’t waste time on FR that forces you to choose between working safely and being comfortable. Exclusively made in the USA by Tyndale, the Versa Three Button Sweatshirt allows you to do both—and look good doing it.
