  • eSUB Construction Software Receives Autodesk Forge Investment

Collaboration between eSUB and Autodesk expected to mitigate risk, improve transparency, and increase profit margins

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 16, 2018) – eSUB, a leading provider of subcontractor mobile and cloud-based project management and labor productivity solutions, is the latest recipient of an Autodesk Forge Fund investment. The investment will accelerate product development for a deeper product integration between the Autodesk BIM 360 construction management platform and eSUB to create a seamless user experience and develop a stronger alignment between the construction project owner, architect, and subcontractors. The investment from Autodesk is part of Series A funding which includes participation from Revolution Ventures.

“Autodesk shares our vision of connecting all construction project stakeholders, and we are thrilled to partner with a worldwide leader in Construction management software to break down the silos within the industry,” says Wendy Rogers, president and CEO of eSUB Construction Software. “eSUB has grown tremendously over the years by delivering a cloud-based field data collection and project management platform for subcontractors, a critical stakeholder in the construction project lifecycle responsible for much of the trades work on projects. With the Autodesk investment, we are actively developing a seamless workflow to connect all project stakeholders to reduce errors from critical information loss, information timing, and information accuracy.”

eSUB Construction Software’s cloud-based mobile platform delivers an integrated suite of point solutions designed for subcontractors including time tracking, daily reports, issues, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, job costs, emails, and more. Additionally, eSUB leverages Autodesk BIM 360 design management and collaboration capabilities to deliver plans and drawings directly to the field user. Learn more about how the current integration between Autodesk BIM 360 and eSUB works.

Benny Baltrotsky, chief strategy officer for eSUB adds, “For more than 50 years, the construction industry has experienced declining levels of productivity. Now is an exciting time as construction companies are beginning to realize the benefits of productivity technology improvements. Our goal at eSUB is to enable subcontractors to leverage technologies—from field data collection tools to Building Information Modeling (BIM)—into one seamless user experience.”

Autodesk is a leading provider of 3D design, engineering, and construction software. This is Autodesk’s fifth Forge investment in a construction technology company  over the past year. Autodesk Forge is a connected developer cloud platform which enables customers to create customized, scalable solutions for engineering, construction and manufacturing challenges. As a continuation of their development efforts and a member of the Forge community, eSUB leverages cloud technologies to push tighter integration between their own internally developed web tools and core Autodesk applications.

“The complexity of construction projects is largely underappreciated by those not earning a living in the building industry,” said Jim Lynch, vice president, Construction Product Line, Autodesk. “At any given time, hundreds of subcontractors are hard at work on a project, which requires substantial oversight to avoid logistical nightmares.  This investment represents Autodesk’s and eSUB’s ongoing efforts to reduce risk to people and the project, increase transparency, and improve jobsite accountability.”

“Within our company, we utilize many different technologies throughout our operations—from preconstruction, construction, and facility maintenance,” says Clint Elliott, owner at Action, Inc. “When we can create levels of integration between different phases of construction, such as with Autodesk and eSUB, the levels of efficiency and collaboration benefits all project stakeholders.”

  • eSUB Construction Software scores highest FrontRunner on usability and user recommendations among more than 125 other products

SAN DIEGO, CA August 2018 – eSUB Construction Software announced today that Software Advice named it a FrontRunner for Construction Project Management software. Software Advice, a Gartner company, analyzes user reviews, and only those software products with top scores for Usability and User Recommended are selected as a FrontRunner.

Subcontractors perform the majority of the labor in commercial construction projects, which is why the operational processes for subcontractors drastically differ from those of general contractors. eSUB has developed its project management solution from the ground up to support the subcontractor workflow. The application’s core features include tracking and managing jobsite activity, labor productivity, job costing, and document control through a simplified user experience regardless of location – in the field or the office. By being an easy-to-use solution with stellar customer service, eSUB continues to grow its user base year over year.

    FrontRunner on Software Advice

“We are honored to be selected for Software Advice FrontRunner for Construction based on the reviews of our users,” says Wendy Rogers, president and CEO of eSUB. “Customer feedback is highly regarded and incorporated into every aspect of our business. This recognition is a validation of the value that eSUB delivers to commercial subcontractors that are underserved with general contractor-based solutions.”

  • Connecting the field-to-the-office, eSUB Time provides for time entry from your field workers to eliminate manual entry and resolve timecard discrepancies quickly

SAN DIEGO, CA: Building upon its award-winning project management and document control solution, eSUB Construction Software (eSUB) proudly announces the release of eSUB Time, a new employee time tracking mobile application. With the release of its new Time application, eSUB offers subcontractors a flexible point solution for time based on their immediate needs, but also designed for long-term growth as a platform for integrated point solutions within the eSUB construction management platform.

eSUB Time takes eSUB’s proven time card management capabilities to the next level. Previously, eSUB customers entered labor hours and unit productivity information within eSUB’s Daily Reports. Based on customer demand for an employee punch in / punch out mobile application, eSUB Time continues to build upon the company’s mobile-first strategy of connecting the field and the office. With eSUB Time, employees record their time, view and edit their timesheets, and submit them for approval directly from their iOS or Android mobile device. Paper timecards that are lost, illegible, or need to be manually entered are no longer needed. Most importantly, the employee and the office staff can add comments to timecards and engage in real-time conversations to resolve disputes and discrepancies quickly.

According to Wendy Rogers, eSUB President and CEO, “With one of our enterprise customers, their foremen are expending 26,000 man hours to collect and create paper timecards for their crews. In fact, over 70% of construction companies utilize paper time cards with some companies spending thousands and millions of dollars in man power to manually create, collect, enter and process time for payroll. While point solutions for time tracking have flooded the construction marketplace as a low cost solution, the problem is that many point solutions are standalone applications without integration and create unnecessary data silos. Because change and implementation of technology is challenging for many companies, eSUB delivers the flexibility to provide subcontractors the tools they need to manage their projects in one solution—at a rate and pace that works for them.”

eSUB recently received investment from the Autodesk Forge Fund. The investment will accelerate product development for stronger product integration between the Autodesk BIM 360 construction management platform and eSUB to create a seamless user experience and develop a stronger alignment between the construction project owner, architect, and subcontractors. Changing the game on every project by automating project management tasks and creating a central cloud-based hub for real-time project information, eSUB empowers Commercial Subcontractors with a solution to mitigate risk and foster greater transparency and communication for the team.
