  • Hitachi Cable America is a leading manufacturer of copper and fiber optic cables.  Recently, Hitachi released the only UL verified outdoor/plenum-rated Category 6 and 6A cables available on the market.  Known as Drybit, this line of cables is intended to be used where 2 cables were traditionally used.  When you have to transition from an outdoor space to a plenum space, you would have to utilize two types of cables, one for outdoor use and one for plenum use, and link them using a transition or consolidation point.  Drybit's unique design allows it to be used in both spaces.  Drybit is available in unshielded and shielded versions.  Drybit is UL verified to ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 and water proof.  It is also UV resitan.  Drybit is resistant to over 2,000 chemicals, making it ideal for use in industrial envrionments as well.  Drybit is made in the USA at teh New Hampshire facility.
