 Press Releases

  • Global Electrical Power and Advanced Materials leader Mersen is pleased to announce non-indicating versions of its popular A2D and A6D Series Class RK1 fuses. With this introduction, the Class RK1 Time Delay fuse series now offers a full range of ampere ratings between 8-600A in both indicating and non-indicating categories.

The non-indicating Class RK1 offers same reliability and performance as the globally popular Mersen Class RK1 Time Delay fuse with SmartSpot® indication to customers and applications not requiring similar fuses with indication. Mersen’s new non-indicating Class RK1 Time Delay fuse series satisfies National Electrical Code® requirements for use in Class I Division 2 hazardous locations.

Another key benefit of the Mersen Non-Indicating Class RK1 Time Delay Fuse series is that they possess the same size, mounting terminals, and ratings as the Mersen SmartSpot Class RK1 Fuses.

Susan Benson, VP Product Management says, “By adding non-indicating models to our family of Class RK1 fuses, Mersen expands the options available to customers. We are excited to be able to offer our customers both non-indicating and indicating categories that complete our RK1 portfolio.”

The UL/CSA Listed Mersen Non-Indicating Class RK1 Time Delay Fuse series is readily identifiable by suffixing the letter “N” to the Catalog Number of the equivalent Mersen SmartSpot Class RK1 Time Delay Fuse. (The part numbers of fuses sized 1/10-7A, already available without indication, will not change.) The new non-indicating A2D and A6D Class RK1 fuses are available immediately.

For more information about the Mersen Non-Indicating Class RK1-TD Fuse product offering, please visit the A2D product page and the A6D product page. For more information about Mersen, visit ep.mersen.com

  • Mersen is pleased to announce improvements to its AJT series of fuses (15-100 Amp models), enabling an increase in AC operating voltage from 600VAC to 700VAC. This has been done primarily to better accommodate power transmission networks at 585V or 600V, especially common in Northeast Canada and the Midwest US.

Mersen’s Class J AJT fuses are compact fuses that offer big protection. The most current-limiting UL-class fuse, Mersen’s AJT series provides optimal performance and saves valuable panel space. Their time-delay characteristic allows for use in a wide range of applications. AJT fuses are available in indicating and non-indicating versions.

Mersen is the only fuse manufacturer to offer Class J fuses with the 700VAC specification. The fuses have been UL self tested. There will be no change in part numbers or pricing. The new 700VAC specification will be available in 15-100A AJT fuses as of the manufacturing date of February 14, 2022.

  • Mersen is excited to introduce a new addition to an already industry-leading TPMOV (Thermally Protected Metal Oxide Varistor) product family. The 25mm TPMOV series features a compact design (30% smaller footprint than traditional TPMOV), allowing manufacturers to provide quality surge protection for valuable equipment while maintaining a small form factor.

The 25mm TPMOV series is a Type 1 Component Assembly in accordance to UL 1449 4th Edition. It does not require any upstream overcurrent protection. The series features a nominal discharge current of 10kA, a short circuit current of 200kA, and a surge capacity of 25kA. The 25mm TPMOV provides the same quality, performance, and consistency as the rest of Mersen’s TPMOV family.

Mersen’s diverse TPMOV portfolio of the standard TPMOV product, the enhanced 75kA TPMOV, and now the 25mm TPMOV allows customers to determine the best overvoltage protection solution for their particular application.

The 25mm TPMOV is available immediately with voltage configurations of 150VAC and 320VAC.
