• Leviton’s New Decora Edge™ Wiring Devices Revolutionize and Simplify Installation (Aug 14, 2023)
  The latest innovation in the company’s Decora® brand of products offers a patent-pending design that simplifies installation in three quick steps.

  MELVILLE, N.Y., January 30, 2023 – Leviton today introduced its Decora Edge™ line of wiring devices — a faster, easier and safer way to install electrical devices for the home. Compared with traditional switches and outlets, Decora Edge revolutionizes installation by enabling users to simply push stripped 14-gauge or 12-gauge electrical building wire into a termination port, and close a lever that clicks into place, terminating the connection with complete confidence.

  Changing the way the industry views traditional wiring devices, Decora Edge features a unique patent-pending color-coded lever termination where the stripped end of a wire is inserted into the device and a simple integral lever clamps the wire into place without the use of screws. This design has a snap feature with an audible “click,” so installers can be confident with every termination.

  The Decora Edge line consists of a Single Pole Switch, a 3-Way Switch, and a 15 Amp Tamper-Resistant Duplex Outlet. The product’s innovative installation features include color-coded lever terminals - including the ground terminal - for faster, efficient wiring, a larger strap with a unique tongue and groove alignment for quicker trim-out on multi-gang installations, and no exposed metal parts for added safety. Decora Edge, ideal for new home construction and home improvement projects, is the only residential device on the market with a quick termination ground wire and the strap is compatible with any sized wallplate.

  MELVILLE, N.Y., March 28, 2023 – Leviton today announced the introduction of its new Decora Weather-Resistant Switch, the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of outdoor solutions and signature line of Decora devices. This innovative device is designed as an all-in-one light switch option for outdoor applications that is aesthetically pleasing and eliminates the need of a protective cover.

  Melville, N.Y., July 18, 2023 – Leviton announced today that it now offers Matter support for the award-winning Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen 600W Dimmer, 15A Switch, Mini Plug-In Dimmer and Mini Plug-In Switch. Using the My Leviton app, customers can easily enroll directly in Leviton's Matter Early Access Program. Once enrolled, Matter certified firmware can be downloaded to their devices. With the update, existing and new My Leviton users can connect their Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen Dimmer, 2nd Gen Switch, 2nd Gen Mini Plug-In Dimmer or 2nd Gen Mini Plug-In Switch locally to any Matter-enabled smart home platform of their choice including Amazon Alexa™, Google Home®, Apple Home®, Samsung SmartThings and more.

• Leviton Expands In-Fixture Control Offering with Smart IP66 Rated Fixture Mount Sensors (Aug 14, 2023)
  New Devices Implement Code Compliant Controls in Fixtures

  Melville, N.Y., March 6, 2023 – Leviton today introduced an expansion of their integrated infixture control offering with Smart Fixture Mount Sensors (FMS) for high bay applications. These in-fixture controls are engineered to install directly into high-bay and low-bay luminaires to provide an integrated occupancy sensing, dimming, daylight harvesting and scheduling solution to meet the most stringent energy code requirements.

  “Smart Fixture Mount Sensors simplify lighting controls for high bay, parking structure and outdoor lighting applications, effectively reducing installation time and costs while meeting energy codes,” said Tom Leonard, vice president of controls at Leviton. “For added convenience and flexibility, these in-fixture controls are fully configurable using the popular Smart Sensor App which enables the sensors to be configured in real-time without climbing up and down ladders making it easier and faster to complete projects.”

  The IP66 rated Smart Fixture Mount Sensors are available in two mounting options, internal and external or end-mount, and are designed for use with switching or 0-10V dimming drivers. Both internal and external mount options are available in 120-277VAC and universal 120-347VAC for single pole applications and 208-480VAC for two-pole applications.

  The sensors use PIR detection and advanced optics to provide an exceptional field-of-view. All Smart Fixture Mount Sensors come with a low-mid bay lens for mounting heights 8-20 feet, midhigh bay lens for mounting heights 20-40 feet and aisleway masks for both lenses.

  The Smart Fixture Mount Sensors feature multiple daylight modes as well as partial-OFF operation, ideal for installations in which energy code compliance is required. All configurations can be made through the Leviton Smart Sensor App including adjusting sensor sensitivity, timeouts, operating modes, daylighting modes, partial-ON, partial-OFF, scheduling (universal models only) as well as mesh grouping for occupancy, daylighting and scheduling.

• Leviton Releases Spanish Edition of 2023 Captain Code Program (Aug 15, 2023)

  MELVILLE, N.Y., August 1, 2023 – Leviton today announced the ninth edition of its popular Captain Code Guide, which features changes and additions to the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC®), is now available in a Spanish edition. This offering is in recognition of the growing number of installers for whom Spanish is their primary language. The 120-page booklet is available at no cost through participating distributors or online at leviton.com/captaincode.

  “Keeping up with the National Electrical Code is critical for all electrical professionals,” said Thomas Degnan, contractor channel manager at Leviton. “Offering Captain Code in a Spanish language edition enables Spanish speaking professionals easy access to the latest Code updates including what changed, how it impacts their work, and what the appropriate product applications are for compliance.”

  Leviton launched the 2023 edition of Captain Code in January and hundreds of Leviton distributors are already displaying and offering the guide to their contractor customers. The Spanish language version of the guide is a necessary progression of this program as the company’s Spanish-speaking customer base expands.

  Leviton’s Captain Code program provides electrical contractors and builders with accurate and timely code analysis and helps them navigate the changes and updates as they occur within each code cycle. The program is based on a partnership between Leviton, the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) and recognized code scholar James Stallcup.

New capabilities include the ability to schedule charging sessions, remotely start and stop charging from anywhere and enable/disable access control.

• Leviton Announces New Line of Power Pedestals for Commercial, Marine and RV Applications (Aug 22, 2023)
  New pedestals provide power in previously unreachable locations while withstanding daily use and harsh environments.

  
  MELVILLE, N.Y., May 8, 2023 – Leviton announced today the launch of a new line of indoor and outdoor power pedestals for commercial, marine and RV/campsite applications. Available in a variety of configurations, colors, heights, enclosure materials and sizes, the new portfolio offers a power solution for every environment.

Made of welded stainless steel and featuring a NEMA 3R rating, these sleek pedestals are designed to blend in with their surroundings while also withstanding harsh outdoor environments. Configurations include one- or two-gang pedestals offered in a variety of colors and multiple hinge options, including a flush hinge, ideal for installations with very limited space. The pedestals can be installed onto a concrete surface or buried directly into the ground depending on the configuration, providing more flexibility for the installer.

  In addition to providing power, Leviton’s pedestals for marine and RV applications feature metering, LED lighting and water valve hookups– all in one solution. Fully customizable to customers’ unique specifications, the units are designed to withstand harsh weather and high-abuse environments. Large power pedestals in this group can accommodate up to six pre-installed Leviton receptacles ranging from 20 Amp GFCIs to 30/50 Amp Locking and 100 Amp Pin & Sleeve Receptacles, as well as breakers.
