DETROIT, MI — Software company RIVET (RIVET Work Inc.) announces a Workforce Management Program for specialty contractors, with a specific focus on the electrical trade. The program addresses the widely-known risk of ineffective labor planning and its impact on contractor performance and profitability. The program will debut on RIVET’s LinkedIn page and via a newsletter. Contractors attending the 2023 NECA Convention can visit the RIVET booth #523 to get a program overview and learn more.
Hosting the new program are Brian Witt and Gary Fuchs, LaborChart (acquired by ProCore) alums. Gary also spent 40+ years in operations at Westphal & Company Inc. proving out expert practices for workforce management and labor planning. The duo share decades of direct experience in truly tackling workforce management problems within thousands of contracting businesses, as well as experiences, challenges, and successes from contractors from across the globe.
“Workforce Management in construction is not a new problem. The industry recognizes this is a problem, but we’ve never had a tool fit to the task for MEP contractors,” said Brian Witt, Director of Revenue Operations at RIVET. “With the RIVET platform, there is finally a place to train and support contractor teams, making it feasible and relatively easy to do all of the proper steps for labor planning.”
The labor shortage only adds more urgency to solutions for Workforce Management. “Labor is the greatest risk and typically 40-60% of the budget, and we haven’t had a platform to effectively bring teams together on best practices for labor,” Witt said. “Shifting strategies will take time, and it’s not easy. But once you see a North star, you have something to drive towards.”
The program begins as a video series where Brian and Gary break down the areas of opportunity in Workforce Management, the common pitfalls to navigate, and the powerful outcomes that lie at the end of the journey. They’ll cover how to define and visualize Workforce Management inside a variety of contractors. They’ll discuss how groups have resolved problems with changing structures, roles, processes, and tools. They’ll also talk about what operations teams can expect to gain should they truly adopt a Workforce Management initiative, like raising entire company-profit-margins, saved time, recapturing value from field leaders.
Contractors can subscribe to the Workforce Management newsletter on RIVET’s website, or follow along on with the video series on RIVET’s LinkedIn page.
