The VariStrip Series US21-7200 featuring Ripley’s patent-pending VariStrip technology is the first ever kit that can safely and cleanly strip any Copper or Aluminum conductor THHN / XHHW-type wires from #2 AWG up to 400 MCM AWG using just 5 variable bushings. Larger bushings up to 750 MCM AWG are also available for custom kits.

Each VariStrip bushing is designed to strip a variety of jacket thicknesses over a set range of AWG conductors, regardless of conductor material, through a precision spring-mounted blade that rides along the conductor - cutting the jacket and not the wire itself.

Traditional bushings must be precisely sized to each wire to be effective, so a comparable kit needs 20 or more bushings to match the capacity of these 5. Ripley’s VariStrip bushings work with any drill driver to save time and money compared to today’s competitive products.

Developed to solve electrical contractors’ challenges with traditional bushings, VariStrip kits allow for maximum flexibility in wire stripping without sacrificing the clean cut professionals require.

This technology allows the switchplate to maintain a smooth, easy to clean, unbroken surface. Microban® antimicrobial technology in the plate material suppresses bacterial growth. It releases silver ions, which disturb bacteria cell walls, preventing them from reproducing. The technology is shown to be effective on over 99.9% unwanted microorganisms. This can help reduce healthcare acquired infections (HAI).
